Get started in jewelry making

Share

I get a lot of people on here asking about how to get started in jewelry making. So, when GMC press announced publication of this book, I thought how perfect it would be for many of my audience!

20% off Etsy beading patterns

Naturally, I couldn’t be sure until I had seen an actual copy! But I’m happy to say I haven’t been disappointed. This book is at a very accessible price point. It is full of lovely projects for beginners. Plus, a really great, simple guide to help you get started. So, let me tell you more…

Why I think ‘Get started in jewelry making’ is such a good buy

With a retail price of just £11.99 (even cheaper on Amazon!), this book gives you 18 projects to try. That’s a pretty good deal, right?

So, you get necklaces, bracelets, earrings and some really funky projects like safety pin jewelry.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! Before you get on to the projects, you will find a lovely introductory section. So, you get a bit of advice about choosing beads. This is handy because, although none of us have trouble falling in love with beads, we don’t always make the smartest choices for the projects we have in mind. So, you’ll get a some guidance for finding the best materials for what you want to make.

Then, you also get an introduction to general jewelry making supplies, like crimps, clasps, eye pins, and so forth. (If you already know a bit, you might recognise these are all ‘findings’).

After that, of course we get on to the essentials. That is, the basic techniques.

So, you are armed with all the information you need to get going on those projects. They are themed by nature, by the seasons, and full of colour and inspiration.

If you’re looking for ideas for quick makes for a craft fair, these are great. They also make great last-minute jewelry makes, or gifts for friends. So, while this is perfect for beginners, I think it also offers some inspiration for those with some experience too.
