If you’re wanting to learn French beading, you’ve come to the right place!
In this section, I am going to talk about the basics. So, that includes learning about the best materials to use, the range of techniques, and some top tips for success. I have also linked to video tutorials and included some great projects to get you started. Plus, you’ll find out about all the tools you need (not many!) and get the best advice on where to get them.
If you’ve stumbled here because you’re not sure what French beading is, let me just quickly explain. It is a traditional beading technique using wire. You will be threading seed beads onto wire, then shaping them to create petals, leaves and flowers. I have outlined the recognised techniques for doing this, so you can get started right away.
This is the technique that I first learned as a complete beginner. So, I can testify that it’s a great way to begin your beading journey. You can create all manner of flowers and plants. Maybe turn your flowers into bouquets or arrangements. And, I have advice on doing all of these things, right here.
Once you have learned the techniques, you can also use French beading to make other dimensional objects. I have made fruit, seen birds, and much more. So, this really is a very adaptable craft.
I invite you to have a read through these posts and I hope they will help and inspire you to learn French beading.
