Category: Pricing

Do you sell beading patterns or tutorials? Do you sell finished jewellery or other beaded items? If you do, then you will have had to struggle with pricing your goods.

I say ‘struggle’ because this is often the single most difficult part of the selling process. What should you charge? If your price is too high, you may not be able to sell anything. If your price is too low, you’re not being paid fairly for your work. So, what is the ‘right’ pricing strategy?

Well, everyone you ask will have a different answer to that question. What I am hoping to do here is to explain your options. At the end of the day, the only way you’ll get your pricing right is through a little trial and error. But it really helps if you have somewhere to start.

So, I’ve explained how to calculate your price based on the ‘correct’ business model. I’ve also talked about how pricing works in reality.

You can find help for setting prices for beading tutorials, as well as for finished jewellery and beadwork.

At the end of the day, the price you decide to charge is down to you. But if you learn a bit about what you should be doing, it will really help you to get it right faster.

Now, if you’ve got a question that I haven’t answered here, use this link to ask me. I can then write a post to help you. You might also like to check out the section on selling your work as this may have some other useful advice.
