If you have read the information on promoting your beadwork and feel it is appropriate, then you can create a listing in the beading directory. It’s very simple. So, let me walk you through the steps here.
First, go to the beading directory. If you follow this link, it will open in a new window, so you can refer back to the instructions here as you create your listing.
Step 1: Click on Create a Listing button
Click on the button ‘Create a Listing’. You can see the red arrow pointing to it, in the image below.
Step 2: Log in – or set up your account
When you have clicked on that button, you will be taken to the next step. Before you can add your listing details, you must be logged in to the website. So, unless you happen to be logged in already (unlikely), you will next see this screen…
If you already have log in details (this would have been something you set up), then you can enter them and click on the blue Log In button.
However, if this is the first time you have added a listing, you probably don’t yet have a log in. So, you would need to click on the link that says ‘Not yet registered?’
This will prompt you to enter your email address and user name (you choose this). Then, check your email (remember to check your spam folder too). You should find an email welcoming you to the website. Click on the link in that and you can set up your password.
Once you are registered, if you are trying to log in, but getting an error message, it could be because you’re using the wrong password. So, you also have the ‘Lost your password?’ link to try. This will automatically generate a new password and email it to you. Then log in with that and you can update your details if you need to.
Step 3: add your details to create a listing
Once you have logged in, you will get to this screen:
So, start by selecting the category for your listing, using the drop-down menu. If you have trouble accessing the drop-down menu, try refreshing the screen. Or, you can also try this on a different web browser.
Once you have selected the category, you will see a choice of payment options. So, select your free listing, or your choice of payment. (Remember, the payment options are explained here).
Then, you can complete the rest of the form. Any fields with an asterisk will require an entry. Website or email forms need a valid web or email address. And if you are completing a phone number, this field required just numbers. So, please don’t use any dashes or spaces, or anything that isn’t a number!
When you have added all your details, make sure you read and agree to the terms and conditions. Then submit your listing. If your form has any errors, these will be highlighted in red. So, correct those, then submit the listing again.
What happens next?
If you have managed to create a listing successfully, you will find yourself on this page:
So, you see, you have confirmation that your listing has gone through. You will then receive an email once your listing has been approved by the site administrators. This can take up to 48 hours, so don’t worry if you don’t hear back straight away.
